"I consider myself to be a part of the funnel with MT 2K23 regards to the people with the most awareness. I've kept in touch with every larger person that plays our game. But also our community, our player base depends on being informed with what's happening," Singh said. "Our game has evolved beyond just a matter of dropping it and moving on with it. Updates are every six weeks and significant ones, including new music, brand new games, updated MyTeam cards, new clothing apparel, all every six weeks.
It's so much. So as the face of everything, I'm tasked with a massive responsibility to reach our entire consumer base the best we can. ""I consider it an honor to be a part of those guys. The topic is something they'll definitely talk about when they're in their lockers," Singh said. "Even even Klay declared that he's never played NBA2K for a while since the Dreamcast however, the fact that Klay cares about his ratings too much, I can tell that's not the case. I am able to see his gamer tags and he plays it frequently.
But I also think him in particular, was very upset by an 88-3-point score. But do you know is funny? This was still tied for the second highest rating. I believe that's a part of the challenge of having a teammate who's an eagle's leap ahead of everyone else but how do you cope with this? Steph in the last year has made way more than 10% more three-pointers than the rest of us throughout the game. At some point, shouldn't the rating be one tenth higher than everyone across the entire league? What do we do about this? I believe he's kind of broken that scale."
Singh also said that these ratings are something players truly care about, which creates the interest of both players and fans. This led into Kevin Durant's recent gripe with his overall rating, and why it was less than 99. "I'm sure you've seen Kevin's tweet, too," Singh said. "You know what's funny, me and Kevin are really close friends. Kevin is one of the four NBA players that were invited to my wedding. So we were texting literally the night before. Then that rating climbed and then he became angry."
"Look, KD has been in the league 14 years ago, he is a pro at the game. This isn't like KD is terribly upset about this, I'm guessing KD is just trying to make conversations. Not that he needs to as he's among the most talked about sportsmen in the world, however I think him joining that conversation is a way to show how much he appreciates our sport and 2K23 MT our relationship.
